Beautiful photos show a father skin-to-skin cuddling his newborn twins in the delivery room

skin-to-skin contact was used by a father who lost his little daughter to a rare genetic condition to mark the birth of his twin sons.

Brennan Brackbill from Hershey, Pennsylvania, hugged his boys Isaiah and caleb to his bare chest when they were born on april 24. The touching moment was caught by Erin Fortney Photography.

after the tragic death of their 20-month-old daughter, Victoria from Krabbe’s illness in march 2016, Brennan and his wife Lesa were even more motivated to form a close relationship with their sons.

Brennan shared his family’s tale with the website Love What matters, describing how Victoria was born on July 30, 2014, by c-section.

Lesa was unable to move her arms due to her epidural, and doctors predicted she wouldn’t be able to touch their daughter skin to skin.

I occasionally get a little teary-eyed just thinking about how incredible the experience was. She remained remarkably still throughout my singing and conversation with her.

Five months later, according to her adoring father, little Tori changed drastically overnight and seemed to be in trouble. He and Lesa both have the genetic disorder Krabbe, which is uncommon and typically fatal.

according to the mayo clinic, the disorder, which affects a child’s neurological system, frequently manifests in infants before six months of age and usually results in death by the age of two.

The couple did all in their power to give Victoria the greatest life imaginable, including completing a bucket list of 50 items that included everything from little pleasures to lavish vacations.

Lesa learned she was expecting identical twins less than two years after their daughter passed away. Fortunately, neither boy has Krabbe disease, and neither is a carrier.

Brennan said he was keen to have skin-to-skin contact with their sons on the day they were born.

When Isaiah was delivered, he went shirtless underneath his operating room attire, unfastened the gown, and held his kid on his chest.
