Female Driver Crashes Rolls-Royce into $3 Million Statue
A 66-year-old woman driving what appeared to be a Rolls-Royce Dawn claimed to have no recollection of crashing her car into a statue, crashing through a fence, and landing on the coastal embankment.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on March 31 in Palm Beach, Florida, with the female driver being a local resident.
She drove the Rolls-Royce into a privately owned property where the statue was placed, plowing through the grass and knocking down the fence before toppling over the embankment. The homeowner confirmed that the statue was valued at $3 million.
The expensive vehicle finally came to a stop after tumbling off the embankment, with its front two wheels touching the sandy beach while the rear wheels remained perched on a wall about 1.5 meters high.
Fortunately, no one was injured, and the female driver was in good health and consciousness to cooperate with investigators. However, she claimed to have no memory of why she was driving in such a manner.
Meanwhile, the police reported that there seemed to be no signs of impairment due to drugs or stimulants. Following the accident, she was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center for evaluation.
As for the extent of damage to the Rolls-Royce, it remains unclear. However, the images shared by the Palm Beach Police Department show significant damage to the front, including the bumper and grille, as well as the rear of the car.
The Rolls-Royce Dawn comes equipped with a 6.6L V12 engine, producing 593 horsepower and 840Nm of torque. It is priced starting at approximately $360,000 in the U.S. market.
