Incredible Feat: Woman Gives Birth to Sextuplets in Under 10 Minutes

Thelma Chiaka, a mother in the United States, has achieved an extraordinary milestone in childbirth by delivering six babies in less than 10 minutes. Her incredible journey to motherhood saw her welcoming two sets of twin boys and one set of twin girls, all within the span of nine minutes.

This remarkable event took place at the Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston, where Thelma gave birth to her sextuplets between 4:50 a.m. and 4:59 a.m. on a Friday. The newborns, despite their early arrival, displayed remarkable resilience. Their weights ranged from 1 pound 12 ounces to 2 pounds 14 ounces, and they were immediately admitted to the hospital’s advanced neonatal intensive care unit, where they remained in stable condition.

The hospital released a statement on the awe-inspiring occurrence, highlighting the incredible odds Thelma had defied. The chances of giving birth to sextuplets are estimated at one in 4.7 billion, making her feat nothing short of a miracle.

“The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, an HCA Houston Healthcare Affiliate, which delivers more babies than any other Texas hospital, early this morning welcomed sextuplets, the odds of which are estimated at one in 4.7 billion. Two sets of twin boys and one set of twin girls were born this morning between 4:50 and 4:59 a.m.,” the statement read.

Dr. Ziad Haidar, Dr. Sharmeel Khaira, and Dr. Israel Simchowitz, the medical team overseeing the births, reported that Thelma Chiaka was in good health following the delivery. This exceptional event serves as a testament to the resilience and strength of both the mother and her six beautiful newborns, defying astronomical odds to bring joy and hope to their family and medical team alike
