Nursery Staff Amazed as Nine Sets of Twins Enroll Together as a Cohort

NURSERY Staff Surprised by Influx of Nine Sets of Twins

Imagine the astonishment that spread among the staff at Stockport Village Nursery in Stockport, Greater Manchester, when not one, not two, but an incredible nine sets of twins were enrolled at the same time. The initial shock came when three pairs of twins were expected, but that surprise was soon dwarfed when six more pairs joined the ranks. This unlikely occurrence has turned the nursery into a hub of double trouble, with an impressive lineup of little ones.

Among the adorable pairs are the youngest duo, Lottie and Gracie Catterall, who are just five months old. Their mother, Steph Doxsey, 31, works at the nursery and has the delightful challenge of looking after her own twins while managing the other tiny tots. The parade of twins continues with Elizabeth and Olivia Handby, Penelope and Grace McMahon, Tobias and Arlo McHugh, Sadie and Lottie Dean, Sia and Ava Vivaldi, Chloe and Emily Worrall, Rey and Joanie Layton, and finally, Archie and Ben Lowther.

Interestingly, out of all these pairs, only one set is identical. The nursery has creatively assigned each duo to a different staff member, creating an efficient and undoubtedly adorable routine.

Nursery manager Lyndsey Cross, 46, expressed her surprise at the situation, saying, “We’ve always had a lot of twins but to have nine is something else. We must be the only nursery in the UK to have this many. We think it’s quite funny and it’s quite unusual. There must be something in the water. The other parents can’t believe it.”

Steph Doxsey, whose own twins are part of this charming chaos, added, “I’ve never heard of so many twins at a nursery. When they’re all together, they just sit looking around at each other like they’re thinking, ‘Oh, you’ve got a twin too’.”

This extraordinary gathering of twins has turned the Stockport Village Nursery into a truly unique setting, capturing the hearts and attention of both staff and parents. The charming sight of these little pairs interacting with each other is a testament to the special bond that twins share.
